Rainbow K is an early childhood education establishment located in Buffalo, NY and founded by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.
The Missionary Sisters run a unique school that employs the Montessori and Piaget methods of teaching. The school provides a high-quality curriculum at a minimum cost (compared to similar private schools). The school relies on tuition and fundraisers to operate. Rainbow K is designed to give the children a home environment while their parents are working. Our philosophy is to treat our children with loving kindness making no distinction of race or creed. In fact, two-thirds of the student body is non-Catholic. They learn to live in harmony and respect each other as children of God. Besides reading and writing, Rainbow K introduces the children to music, dance, language, technology, and educational field trips. The Sisters have seen the fruits of their labors in that Rainbow K graduates have excelled and surpassed their peers in later education. Graduates have become accomplished members of society. A number of graduates have gone on to become physicians, lawyers, teachers, engineers, and a number of other professionals. The Sisters credit Divine Providence for their success.
Emerge is currently working with Rainbow K to ensure that have the most up-to-date technology and platforms for early childhood education as well as donate time and resources to Rainbow K to ensure that they continue to be an excellent provider and help educate the young minds of Buffalo.
Emerge was proud to support the Buffalo community throughout the pandemic.
We volunteered with Meals on Wheels when their staff could not deliver due to the Covid 19 crisis. Each team member took shifts and the whole Emerge community participated in ensuring every Buffalonian was supported.
We also hand-made masks – led by Emerge’s CEO Lisa Langley, who sewed at night while the Emerge team members were delivering her cut cloths and helped to deliver and distribute to local hospitals that were in desperate need of PPE.
Emerge continues to donate throughout the year to organizations that help people who are underserved, sick, or just need a helping hand.
